EAI has responded to the call for evidence as part of the Utility Regulator (UR) Review of Exit Capacity in Northern Ireland (NI).
In its response EAI supports short term gas capacity products at exit in NI in order to:
- Create a level playing field on the island
- Remove a potential barrier to entry in ISEM-ability to reflect variable costs
- Meet RES targets on the island
- Move with the direction of travel at EU level
The response was submitted with a Eurelectric paper, which highlights both the necessity and increasing availability of shorter term products at exit across the EU.
The UR call for evidence closed on Friday 27 May.
